Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

What is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception?

The feast commemorates Mary's conception in her mother, St. Anne's, womb and recognizes her unique role as the mother of God. The feast is not about the virginal conception of Jesus, but about Mary's own conception without the stain of original sin.
