Corpus Christi Procession
WHEN: Sunday, June 7th | after the 10:30am Mass
To celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (a.k.a. Corpus Christi), we will come together for a eucharistic procession at the conclusion of the 10:30am Mass.
WHAT IS A EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION?
A eucharistic procession is a public devotion, where the faithful are able to walk with Jesus in the streets. Taking the precious Body of Christ, in a consecrated host, and placing it in a monstrance, the priest carries our Lord through the streets, and we join as a community of believers walking in his footsteps, singing songs of praise.
WHERE WILL THE PROCESSION BE? HOW LONG WILL IT GO?
The eucharistic procession will take place immediately at the conclusion of the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, June 7th, and we will process through the St. Luke’s parking lot, north along 42nd Avenue, loop through the south apartments of GVSU campus, and back to St. Luke’s, to close inside the church with a benediction. In total, the procession will take around 45-60 minutes. See the route map below:
